Goechala Trek at a glance

The Goechala Trek is one of the most iconic high-altitude treks in Sikkim and a dream route for trekkers seeking dramatic Himalayan scenery, a strong physical challenge, and close views of the Kanchenjunga massif.

Starting from Yuksom, the trail moves through the forests and ridges of Khangchendzonga National Park, crossing hanging bridges, rhododendron belts, alpine meadows, and open glacial valleys before reaching the high camps of Thansing and Lamuney.

The defining reward of the Goechala Trek is the pre-dawn climb toward View Point 1, where sunrise lights up Kanchenjunga, Pandim, Kabru, Rathong, and surrounding giants in one of the finest mountain panoramas in India.

This is not a casual walk; it is a demanding Himalayan trek best suited to fit trekkers who want a classic Sikkim adventure with big views, changing landscapes, and a genuine sense of expedition.
